Meet Tina
Writer. Actor. Advocate. Trailblazer.
Tina is a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and a passionate artist living with Down syndrome. Tina is renowned for her compelling storytelling, commanding stage presence, and unwavering commitment to authentic representation. Her powerful voice, both on and off screen, is reshaping the creative landscape—one story at a time while striving to challenge perception and inspire change through art.
In 2024, Tina made waves with the release of the web series OUT OF HERE, a project she not only wrote but also starred in. Created in collaboration with Director Jacqueline Pelczar and Producer Sophia Armstrong, the series is a vibrant celebration of authenticity, imagination, and heart.
Tina’s creative journey took off in 2021 with her debut short film SPARKLES, which earned her the Outstanding Achievement in Writing award at the Screen Culture Awards. Backed by Screenwest’s Elevate70 program, SPARKLES captivated audiences at major festivals including Flickerfest, Revelation Film Festival, and Cannes Short Film Festival. The film continued its journey across the globe, screening at Slamdance, the Micheaux Film Festival, El Paso Film Festival, and Pride on the Reef, among others. In 2023, Tina was honored with the Emerging Performer award and the Audience Award at My Queer Career and Asia-Pacific Queer Film.
Tina has captivated audiences on stage with her unforgettable performances in YOU KNOW WE BELONG TOGETHER, a powerful production by Black Swan State Theatre Company. In 2022, the show took flight internationally—lighting up the Southbank Centre in London, making waves at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and culminating in a string of sold-out performances at the iconic Sydney Opera House. Along the way, Tina’s reputation soared, celebrated as a bold, talented, and inspiring performer on the rise.
Her love for theatre was nurtured through early experiences such as the Perth Festival Connect workshop with award-winning artist Claire Cunningham. Since then, she’s brought her unique presence to stages with Poles Apart Community Theatre and Black Swan State Theatre Company.
Tina is more than a performer—she’s a passionate advocate for inclusion, using her platform to champion diversity in the arts. Her work is a powerful reminder that every voice matters, and every story deserves to be seen and heard.
